Safety and support
Choice Labz™ is an educational simulation. It is not the right tool for deciding questions of safety, abuse, coercion, or crisis, and it never tries to be.
If someone may be in immediate danger
Call 911 or your local emergency number now. Do not use this or any app in an emergency.
When conflict practice is not appropriate
Communication and decision exercises assume a basic level of safety for everyone involved. Where abuse, coercive control, intimidation, stalking, or a serious power imbalance may be present, joint communication practice and mediation-style exercises can be inappropriate or unsafe. A qualified local professional, advocate, or attorney can help assess what is appropriate for your situation.
Finding qualified support
- National Domestic Violence Hotline: 1-800-799-7233 or text START to 88788 (US).
- Crisis lines for youth and adults: call or text 988 (US Suicide & Crisis Lifeline).
- Your local family court self-help center, legal aid office, or bar association referral service.
- Licensed family mediators, therapists, and parenting coordinators in your area.
Organizations using Choice Labz™ can configure local, district, or regional resources for their participants. The resources above are national starting points, not endorsements.
What Choice Labz™ does instead
When a fictional scenario touches a safety concern, the simulation stops and says so plainly, then points to human support. It never adjudicates, never investigates, and never decides whether an allegation is true.
