Contractors are responsible for
- Business registration in their jurisdiction.
- Trade and contractor licensing.
- Permits for projects that require them.
- General liability and workers' compensation insurance as required.
- Federal, state, and local taxes, including sales tax where applicable.
- Customer contracts, terms, and signed agreements.
- Project safety, OSHA compliance, and protection of workers and customers.
- Accuracy of estimates, scope, materials, labor, and timelines.
- Refund, deposit, and cancellation policies offered to their own customers.
- Compliance with local, state, and federal consumer-protection laws.
- Customer consent for any communication channel they use (email, phone, SMS).
- Accurate service area, availability, and pricing information.
- Worker classification and employment law obligations.
- Protecting customer data they collect and enter into the platform.
What TradeAnchor Desk does not do
- Verify licensing, bonding, insurance, or permits.
- Provide legal, tax, accounting, insurance, or construction advice.
- Act as a party to any contract between a contractor and a customer.
- Guarantee leads, revenue, jobs won, or customer conversion.
